Carnivorous Plants

At Twin Oaks we grow a wide variety of carnivorous plants:

Venus Fly Traps (Dionaea): The only 'active' carnivorous plant.

Sarracenia: North American pitcher plants. These incredible plants display a multitude of foliage colours. Plus, they are winter-hardy outdoors in the Pacific northwest!

Sundews (Drosera): These sticky plants are great for trapping fruit flies & fungus gnats.

Pinguicula: Attractive plants with colourful, violet-like flowers.

Utricularia: Great groundcover for terrariums, the tiny intricate flowers are a bonus.
Plant Availability: As our selection varies throughout the year, we have not listed all the varieties of Sarracenia (Pitcher Plants) that we have available. Our Sarracenia specimens range in height from 6" to 20", depending upon the variety or cultivar. We also carry several types of Venus Flytraps, Sundews, Pinguicula, and Utricularia.
